Authorities have announced that a regional transport aircraft from Indonesia crashed into the sea, in Papua province. 25 people have died.
The device, MA-60 type, Chinese manufacturing, “fell into the sea about 500 meters from the runway while it was in the landing stage” on Kaimana airport in a small town in West Papua, said ministerial official, Bambang Ervan.
The aircraft of the Indonesian Merpati Nusantara Company has “exploded” and disintegrated when reached the water, said Gunawan, a Navy officer in Papua.
“All passengers have died” and “15 bodies were recovered from the water.” The others are probably in the wreckage of the aircraft, according to him.
